Position Overview

The Manager of Compliance is responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading compliance staff and related activities

and functions, ensuring that OCHIN's compliance program is meeting the needs of the organization and its members.

The Manager has leadership experience and advanced knowledge of health care compliance. This individual collaborates

and works closely with senior leaders and teams across the organization and is well-organized, flexible, adaptable, and

resourceful. This position reports to the Director, Member & Operational Excellence

Essential Duties

Team Management

  • Lead, motivate, develop and support team to achieve desired results.
  • Provide ongoing direct supervision and support to staff, including leading regular team meetings and 1:1 check-in meetings.
  • Communicate and manage the implementation of OCHIN's strategy.
  • Manage staff performance in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Provide regular coaching and mentorship to other team members to help them reach their highest potential.
  • Actively promote the diversity of OCHIN staff by identifying and developing emerging leaders from projects and programs.

Compliance

  • Oversees and assists with investigations related to compliance and privacy, internal audits and remediation, and data loss prevention reviews
  • Develops and maintain departmental procedures and processes
  • Continuously identifies opportunities for improvement
  • Monitors responsiveness to customer service tickets
  • Collaborates with leaders across the organization
  • Intervenes and resolves compliance escalations
  • Assists with coaching/educating leaders and staff on compliance and privacy policies
  • Reviews and provides input into contracts as it relates to compliance
  • Supports and assists with annual compliance training for staff (e.g., code of conduct)
  • Assists with addressing/triaging compliance-related customer service tickets
  • Reviews and assists with compliance trainings for customers
  • Assists with research on state/federal regulatory requirements for key programs that affect our members
  • Provides supports to strategic OCHIN projects focused on ensuring member compliance with statutory and regulatory changes
  • Presents to members updates on regulatory and compliance matters
  • Oversees the coordination of the Business Continuity Access program, ensuring member compliance Coordinates changes to notices of patient privacy language
  • Oversee HIM functions (e.g., patient chart corrections to eliminate duplication, clinical data abstraction)
  • Supports regulatory compliance, quality improvement/evaluation and public health surveillance

Projects

  • Ensures projects align with federal, state, and institutional regulations that govern human subject research (conflict of interest, data use and transfer, record retention, research misconduct, data stewardship)
  • Supports/ensures compliance with Federal Wise Assurance with Office of Human Research Protections as it relates to the US federal regulations for the protection of human subjects
  • Oversees internal risk assessments/audits o Monitors standardized training requirements for research staff
  • other duties as assigned.
Requirements

*** We are requiring all candidates to submit a writing sample 1-2 pages in length (legal abstract, policy, memorandum or blog post that displays your healthcare compliance, legal or regulatory compliance knowledge.

  • Bachelor's degree in law, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (Master's or JD preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in compliance, risk management, or a related field.
  • Experience in healthcare is highly desirable
  • Certifications in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC), or Healthcare Research
  • Compliance (CHRC) preferred.
  • Proven professional writing skills, the ability to create clear, concise content that resonates with a variety of audiences.

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement

Work Location and Travel Requirements

OCHIN is a 100% remote organization with no physical corporate office location. Employees work remotely from home and many of our positions also support our member organizations on-site for new software installations. Nationwide travel is determined based on OCHIN business needs. Please inquire during the interview process about travel requirements for this position.

Base Pay Overview

The typical offer range for this role is minimum to midpoint (min-$98,819 mid-$128,465), with the midpoint representing the average pay in a national market scope for this position. Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will consider a wide range of factors directly relevant to this position, including, but not limited to, skills, knowledge, training, responsibility, and experience, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
