Job Description:
A challenging and rewarding career opportunity is available to join our clients engineering team. This position includes working closely with the production teams to develop and improve manufacturing processes. We are looking for a self-starting, self-motivated candidate who can help drive process improvements and productivity on the shop floor.
The material review board (MRB) engineer will perform duties related to the complex engineering problems of aerospace design and development.
Responsibilities include:
*Developing a monitoring process and creating an action list based on common defects.
*Assist and aid in determining system changes to streamlined dispositioning - identify what needs to change in the process (system changes and process changes).
*Reviewing and resolving defects and nonconforming conditions in assemblies.
*Documenting and determining if abnormalities are related to engineering issues, and ensuring corrections will not negatively affect the functionality of systems.
*Verify that materials are structurally adequate for their purpose in the assembly, monitor installation of those materials, and help implement any changes as needed.
*Collaborate and engage with cross functional project teams focused on new product introduction, continuous improvement, and nonconformance resolution.
*Develop manufacturing processes and tools to ensure products and services provided meet all contractual, program, design, and quality requirements.
*Create engineering documentation including models, drawings, routings, testing specifications, reports, and work instructions.
*Disposition manufacturing non-conformances and determine root causes and solutions.
*Troubleshoot machines and processes.
*Meet with customers to define their needs and determine the best solutions.
*Participate in design, manufacturing, and test documentation reviews to ensure applicable contract, program, design, and quality requirements are met.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
*Must be familiar with RCCA process
*Sheet metal experience - Familiar with HT/SPF forming and manual trim of sheet metal (candidates should be mechanically inclined).
*Experience with reviewing, troubleshooting, improving and documenting processes, with the ability to identify issues causing common defects.
*Proficient with computer systems and basic software, experience with Solid Works.
*Proficient at reading, analyzing and interpreting customer drawings, specifications, procedures, and standards.
*Minimum 5 years providing engineering support to a manufacturing environment.
*Excellent written and verbal communication.
*Experience working in aerospace industry
*Lean and six sigma experience/knowledge
Education:
Bachelors degree in engineering, or equivalent. Significant and qualified experience may suffice.
