Summary

Spire is seeking a SCADA Administrator to work in our St. Louis, MO office.This position will be responsible for providing maintenance and improvements to the Company's SCADA systems. This position will also support other Gas Operations teams in various SCADA-related projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks and activities for development, design, implementation, testing, and operation of SCADA system(s)
  • Responsible for troubleshooting and configuring the SCADA system(s)
  • Develop and maintains SCADA related HMI graphics, reports, trends, and applications for use by Gas Control, field technicians, and other departments
  • Support Gas Control and other Gas Operations departments with the use of the SCADA system(s)
  • Assist Spire IT in monitoring and troubleshooting activities related to SCADA server and workstation hardware, performance, network infrastructure, and security
  • Design, configure and troubleshoot SCADA RTUs, communication devices, telecommunications software, and data exchange protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards associated with PHMSA and Department of Transportation requirements
  • Configure and maintain existing software and hardware that relate to SCADA operations
  • All other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • None

Required Education (certifications, licenses)

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred or 2- 3 years equivalent experience

Required knowledge, skill and abilities

  • 3 years of experience in working with SCADA, OT, or control systems
  • Experience with SCADA/OT preferred
  • Working knowledge of RTU or PLC equipment, programming, communications systems, and technology,
  • Working knowledge of computer coding or programming language applications (such as Visual Basic)
  • Working knowledge of current communication technologies and equipment includes spread spectrum radio, licensed radio, and cellular communications.
  • Ability to set up and configure cellular and radio serial and IP network communication devices within various infrastructures
  • Basic understanding of Ethernet network construction using routers and switches
  • Basic experience with server and workstation networking and administration
  • Familiarity with Control Room Management regulations
  • Basic knowledge of troubleshooting software problems

Physical demands, environment and schedule

  • Work is normally performed in a shared office environment; occasional field programming/troubleshooting is required
  • Typically, Monday through Friday 7:00 am - 4:00 pm, with some on-call hours
  • Occasional travel
