Purpose:

As a Subcontract Coordinator II, you will play a vital role in managing subcontractor relationships that support the successful execution of our projects across the energy, chemicals, and resources sectors. You will be responsible for preparing, negotiating, and administering subcontracts that align with both commercial best practices and our customers' evolving sustainability goals.

Responsibilities:

• Support the full subcontract lifecycle from initial strategy and prequalification to execution, administration, and closeout.
• Assist in the development of project-specific subcontracting plans that align with overall procurement strategies and sustainability targets.
• Identify, solicit, and evaluate potential subcontractors for construction, consulting, and specialty services.
• Coordinate and conduct subcontractor pre-award meetings and clarify requirements related to scope, deliverables, and timelines.
• Prepare, review, and issue subcontract agreements, ensuring compliance with company policies, project specifications, and customer requirements.
• Negotiate subcontract terms and conditions, focusing on risk mitigation, cost effectiveness, and alignment with performance expectations.
• Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure delivery of quality services in accordance with contract requirements and project schedules.
• Support the resolution of subcontractor claims, variations, or disputes, and facilitate any required change management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, project controls, legal, and construction to ensure seamless integration of subcontractor activities into project workflows.
• Review and validate subcontractor invoices and supporting documentation to ensure timely and accurate payments.
• Maintain accurate and organized subcontract files, correspondence, and documentation for audit readiness and reporting.
• Provide input to proposals and project planning related to subcontracting scope, schedules, and estimated costs.

What you will bring

Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:

• Substantial experience in subcontract formation, negotiation, and administration within the energy, chemicals, or resources industries.
• Working knowledge of contractual frameworks, commercial risk management, and performance-based contracting.
• Ability to plan and prioritize work independently while managing multiple subcontract packages concurrently.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external subcontractors.
• Proficient in interpreting scopes of work, specifications, and drawings to ensure contractual alignment.
• Comfortable using enterprise systems, procurement platforms, and document control tools.
• Familiarity with industry safety, sustainability, and compliance requirements as they relate to subcontracted work.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop recommendations for subcontractor performance improvement and issue resolution.

Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:

• University degree or equivalent in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Preferred:

• Equivalent practical experience.
