The Position

The Dance Team Coordinator is a part-time non benefited position is responsible for all aspects of the Dance Team. They will be responsible for regular communications with the band director. Dance season runs during the Fall and Spring Semesters. Position serves from August through the academic year, is non-benefitted and works a maximum 275 hours in total.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Running rehearsals
  2. Writing and teaching choreography
  3. Advising the band director on equipment and uniform needs
  4. Assisting the band director in overall fall show design
  5. Attend weekly in-season marching band practices and band staff meetings.
  6. Run independent Dance Team practices after the marching band season ends
  7. Regular communications with the band director

Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Should have extensive background in dance
  • Experiences should include performing at a high level independently, or as a part of a group
  • Experience teaching dance is preferred.
