Level II

  • Estimated annual base pay: $104,800.00(minimum) - $131,000.00(midpoint) - $157,200.00(maximum)

Level III

  • Estimated annual base pay: $126,000.00(minimum) - $157,500.00(midpoint) - $189,000.00(maximum)

Are you ready to make your mark? If you're a Global Supplier Manager, we have an exciting opportunity for you. Management of global supply base to maximize performance and leverage to positively impact financial performance of all Woodward business groups. Includes all aspects of commercial and contractual management of the assigned suppliers. Key focus is the selection and development of the supply base to match Woodward's future needs but also includes support of the business group-based purchasing functions in the areas of strategic alignment and critical issue escalation. This individual can be based out of Fort Collins, CO - Niles, IL - Rockford, IL

What You Will Be Doing

Level II

  • Development of complex sub-commodity strategies with limited oversight - significant contribution to commodity level strategy development
  • Basic interpretation of external data to influence decisions
  • Ability to find root cause through use of non-purchasing WISE application
  • Mentoring for Level 1 supplier managers on tools and applications
  • Ability to develop non-standard agreements with oversite
  • Demonstrated ability to apply appropriate type of agreement to conditions
  • Development of negotiation strategies for simple and medium complexity contracts
  • Participation in complex negotiation teams and lead on medium complexity negotiations
  • Insight into regulatory compliance as it applies to projects and activities - incorporating activities to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Demonstrated understanding of intent of Global Sourcing standardized processes to ensure desired results
  • Ability to understand and apply impact of business level strategies
  • Cooperative development of strategies with balance of enterprise and supplier(s)
  • Understanding of more advanced market influences (forecast of indices, labor, geopolitical, emerging markets, etc.) with integration into strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to develop supplier strategies aimed at the development of a long-term viable supply base - maximize sustainable value of supplier to WW results
  • Demonstrated ability to manage medium/complex projects containing unknowns and risks requiring quick adjustment to planning and activity to ensure goals are not compromised
  • Relationship management at significantly high level with supplier, including executive level with oversight
  • Strategic relationship (risk sharing, contractual creativity, etc.)
  • Development and deployment of appropriate actions based upon data

Level III

  • Ability to drive strategy that impacts business group direct on strategy
  • Demonstrated value and contribution through leverage and integration of complete market factor influences
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, enterprise-wide projects requiring deployment of advanced project management skills and tools (risk management, financial model management, high level of enterprise integration, etc.)
  • Autonomous development and execution of relationship management strategies of complex (1-many) relationships at high levels with suppliers
  • Mapping, communication and facilitation of many-many relationships (corporate level)
  • Effective integration of internal and external data source to drive activity
  • Ability to discern effectiveness of metrics and goals to drive desired results
  • Lead of Continuous Improvement efforts requiring strong integration and alignment with other functions
  • Effectively drives across regional and global boundaries

  • Understanding of technologies within one or more sub-commodities with ability to contribute with technical experts
  • Ability to facilitate development of effective project schedules
  • Ability to effectively communicate at the enterprise level
  • Awareness capable of meeting multi-cultural groups within their cultural landscape
  • Ability to effectively drive planning and thinking around a future state,
  • Planning includes appropriate emphasis on improvements in Six Sigma and Lean implementation
  • Ability to diffuse difficult communication to drive solutions,
  • Ability to transform data into logical solutions
  • Ability to lead groups (internal and external) through difficult situations - drive consensus where possible maximizing support
  • Knowledge of impact of activities on P&L,to handle multiple tasks and priorities without compromising results,
  • Demonstrates ability to learn from within the organization as well as from industry resources
  • Ability to develop plans and strategies to ensure achievement of goals and objectives
  • Ability to guide others in the development of PPAP and execution of WPQR 9100
  • Strong participation in supplier assessment processes,
  • Ability to execute actions that are not clearly defined and drive appropriate actions for known risks
  • CPM, CPI, Apia, etc. preferred

Level II

  • US - Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) required, advanced business degree preferred
  • 3-5 years purchasing experience required

Level III

  • US - Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) required, advanced business degree preferred
  • 5+ years Strategic Sourcing experience required
