The Opportunity:

In this role, you will report to the Operations Manager of site services and will work closely with the Avantor's Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Hourly Rate: $24 - 27

Shift: Monday-Friday, 7 am - 4 pm (Overtime available)

Location: Metropolitan area in PA and NJ

What we're looking for

  • Education: High school diploma or GED is required; Associates degree or undergraduate degree in a business or science-related field is a plus.
  • Experience: 3-5+ years of experience in Inventory control/procurement/shipping and receiving/Inside Sales, etc., a plus
  • Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Suite Experience
  • Will be using your own vehicle and ability to fly (If open to traveling further out)
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Previous experience working in a GMP facility is strongly desired
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of Information Access and System ESS
  • Valid driver's license is required to perform the essential functions of the job
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Traveling between multiple locations and must be able to travel outside of Pennsylvania to New Jersey up to 50% of the time
  • Mileage reimbursement for miles driven from your door to the client location
  • Having a CDL is a plus, not a requirement
  • Cross-referencing and inside sales experience are a plus
  • Forklift Certification is a plus
  • Prior experience with VWR/Avantor products and services, a plus
  • IATA, DOT, OSHA Right to Know, IMDG a plus

Avantor's Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.

In this role you will:

  • Performs all duties associated with the operations of Site Services.
  • Requires traveling to customer sites.
  • Coordinates and leads team efforts and performs work related to customer requirements.
  • Works closely with management to complete projects such as Standard Operating Procedures, Scopes of Work, Standard Work, On-The-Job Training, and other assorted tasks, along with direct customer interfacing relative to job functions.
  • Interfaces directly with customer Point-of-Contact, purchasing directors, facility directors, and plant managers etc. to procure lab supplies and materials.
  • Utilizes Avantor and customer computer systems: SAP, Inventory Manager, Chemical Manager, and/or other customer-specific applications.
  • Trains Avantor Lab and Production Services associates on all service offerings.
  • Provides SAP Support (Full customer services, credit rebills, and invoice scrubbing).
  • Modifies and maintains quality metrics and key performance indicators.
  • Manages a budget related to expense reports.
  • Meets revenue, TOE, safety, performance, and quality goals and objectives
  • Creates programs for enhanced service efficiencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay Transparency:

The expected pre-tax pay for this position is

$54,600.00 - $91,000.00

Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
