Roles and Responsibilities 1. Expert in the Fundamentals of electricity and electronics as related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment, electronic solid-state devices, circuits, wiring, and equipment in industrial stations and plants. 2. Participate in an electrical safety program. 3. Participates in Risk Assessments as part of Integrated Safe System of Work / Permit to Work preparation 4. Assist staff with information regarding electrical systems within the plant and off-site locations. 5. Troubleshoot and repair 110 through 480-voltage alternating current equipment. 6. Obtain measurements and readings using electrical and mechanical testing instruments, including digital multi meters, meggers, amp meters, ohm meters, and phase rotation meters. 7. Coordinate maintenance work with other sections, contractors, and engineers; estimate time, materials, and equipment required for repairs; examine various electrical systems and make recommendations for new equipment, repairs, and modifications. 8. Perform a variety of other maintenance tasks, such as electrical preventative maintenance, tagout/lock-out, disconnecting and removing motors, and responding to emergencies. 9. Maintain records of maintenance and repair work; prepare reports, documentation, and correspondence. 10. Perform pipe bending and installation of electrical conduit, equipment, feeders, branch circuits, motors, and lighting. 11. Fault-finding and repair of systems and equipment 12. Inspect electrical installations to determine maintenance requirements and procedures. 13. Draw and read electrical and mechanical schematics, blueprints, and/or diagrams. 14. Test and maintain electric motors, variable frequency drives, alarms, and control systems to ensure proper working condition. 15. Oversee electrical projects and major upgrades Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or GED Experience: 8-10 years oilfield and/or electrical and electric distribution systems experience, with a responsible attitude for personal safety and the safety of co-workers, contractors & the public; Journeyman's license preferred Skills and Competencies 1. Demonstrated self-starter with the drive and ability to learn quickly, as well as the initiative to challenge the status quo 2. Team-oriented; excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members and other groups, such as electrical engineers and energy providers 3. Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work autonomously with minimal to no supervision 4. Excellent time management skills, multi-tasking, and prioritization abilities 5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including diagnostic and repair skills for complex problems in electrical distribution systems and protection 6. Proficient at reading electrical schematics and using all test equipment associated with troubleshooting electrical equipment and electric distribution systems 7. Demonstrated knowledge of installing, troubleshooting, and repairing switchboard control panels and components, motor circuits, building and lighting circuits, and control/relaying circuits 8. Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical/micro-processor relay logic and ladder logic as well as programming simple ladder logic programs 9. Capable of safely supervising electrical contractor work for distribution and transmission line work and troubleshooting wide voltage range of equipment 10. Able to perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment such as switchgear, breakers, etc. 11. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing 12. Capable of managing and maintaining invoices/billing, with an acute attention to detail 13. Good computer skills and networking knowledge; proficient in MS Office software suite 14. Valid driver's license and excellent driving record 15.
