TRC's Research and Consulting (R&C) team, within the Advanced Energy practice, is focused on developing and deploying decarbonization and clean energy solutions for our clients - utilities, non-profits, local governments, and state and federal agencies. R&C is a multi-disciplinary research-based consulting team that helps internal and external clients develop and optimize scaled clean energy solutions grounded in technological, economic, policy, market, and customer insights. Our research consulting projects are focused on how advanced energy solutions like energy efficiency, demand management, distributed energy resources, emerging tech, microgrids, storage, and electrification can help drive the clean energy transformation.

TRC is seeking a dynamic and motivated Research Study Engagement Coordinator to support the successful execution of decarbonization research studies and field pilots. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing campaigns to recruit participants to take part in research studies and pilots, playing a critical role in ensuring the projects have the necessary participants to achieve their goals. You will work closely with project teams to align recruitment efforts with technical and logistical requirements. And you will maintain communication with recruited participants, providing ongoing support and updates throughout the pilot to ensure their continued involvement.

The ideal candidate will have a background in marketing, communications, and project coordination in addition to familiarity with energy, sustainability, or decarbonization sectors.

This is a California-based position. Preference is for a candidate located near one of TRC's California offices Irvine, San Diego, San Francisco, Oakland, or Rancho Cordova (Sacramento), but this is not required.


Responsibilities

  • External outreach:
    • Developing recruitment strategy, workflows, and channels
    • Engaging appropriate listservs, trade groups, partner organizations, and associations to promote research opportunities and recruit participants
    • Communicating with prospective participants (builders, manufacturers, distributors, contractors, homeowners, renters, and other stakeholders) regarding the benefits of the research
    • Managing outreach and communicating logistics with study participants throughout duration of study participation
  • Internal team leadership:
    • Supporting and collaborating with project leads to engage public organizations, customers, and market stakeholders as necessary
    • Collaborating with internal programs, marketing, and communications experts to develop marketing and communication strategies for participant recruitment
    • Coordinating with internal project teams and TRC lawyers to establish participant agreements
    • Coordinating with internal interview and survey experts to develop scripts and surveys, as project needs require
    • Providing basic project management support such as scheduling interviews/meetings, distributing surveys, and supporting project managers in reporting metrics
    • Working with internal team members to track outreach contacts and recruitment status to provide study forecasting, prospective participant information, and study documentation

The individual may also contribute research, analysis, and/or project coordination to R&C projects involving market assessments, field deployment of emerging technologies, evaluation, customer research, or codes and standards development, as appropriate to experience and interest.


Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant professional experience, Associate's degree with 3+ years of experience, or High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of experience
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication
  • Strong customer service skills and diplomacy
  • Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Ability to build trust and foster relationships
  • Cultural sensitivity and inclusivity
  • Ability to effectively work across multiple internal teams (technical, marketing, operations, etc.)
  • Ability to deliver on multiple competing priorities and deadlines
  • Proficient to advanced knowledge of MS Office tools i.e., Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Outreach, marketing, and/or sales experience.
  • Experience with energy efficiency technologies and how to sell the benefits
  • Skilled in communications, marketing/sales, collaboration
  • Execution focus, adaptability, tenacity
  • Spanish language proficiency

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
