TE59P4 Software Engineer

Seeking experienced software engineers familiar with the CAS Messenger system and Messenger File Loading batch processing. This role involves coaching, training and assisting inexperienced team members to become more proficient in these skills.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver training on specific Messenger capabilities to newer team members.
• Consult on solutions for new features and in troubleshooting challenging defects.
• Assist with recruiting, assessing and onboarding activities for new-hires.
• Consult on migrating Mainframe code to Unix.

Technologies and Tools:

IBM BAL (Basic Assembly Language), JCL, TSO, Mainframe, Linux, Shell, PL/1, C/C++, Perl, Jira

Job Requirements:

• at least 5 years' experience with the Messenger system and/or Messenger File Loading
• at least 5 years experience with IBM BAL, JCL and TSO
• experience with PL/1 and mainframe C languages
• strong conceptual/analytical capabilities and communication/facilitation skills, with strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• experience and willingness to teach others complex concepts and technical details
• strong verbal and communication skills and experience in documenting complex system functions

Bachelors of Computer Science (preferred)

2 years: PL/1 and Mainframe C (required)
5 years: Messenger and MFL systems knowledge (required)
5 years: Mainframe BAL, JCL, TSO (required)
