Make banking a Fifth Third better GENERAL FUNCTION: We're looking for engineers to bring fresh ideas to the table to assist us in providing best in class digital products for our end customers, ultimately making banking a fifth third better! Responsible for implementing new features and enabling capabilities using modern information technology engineering tools and practices. Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types. The Lead Cloud Engineer will execute best practices within our public cloud environment. The ideal candidate has experience in modern cloud practices ranging from micro services based architectures, cloud infrastructure services, guardrails, and identity. This role requires implementation and execution experience to ensure success in our transformational journey. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Hands-on role responsible for implementing and maintaining new features within public cloud infrastructure. * Build cloud-native services to support application teams and lead the development of cloud infrastructure automation. * Achieve operational excellence by automating processes and creating maintainable, supportable, and testable solutions. * Participate in communities of practice by contributing to and following standards, reviewing others code, and sharing knowledge. * Engage and support applications teams that rely on cloud product and services * Create and maintain technical documentation for the team to reference and share with our internal customers. * Provide technical support to regulatory agencies, external auditors, and internal auditors, as required, to respond to audits and examinations of the Bank's control environment. * Provide coaching and training to new or less experienced team members. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or comparable with 5+ years of relevant experience * Demonstrated proficiency in at least one of the following coding languages: Python, JavaScript or GoLang * Experience with AWS organizations and policy guardrails (SCP, AWS Config) * Demonstrated understanding of AWS native networking services and cloud DNS (TGW, VPC, DXGW, NLB, GWLB, etc) * Demonstrated knowledge of cloud security services (WAF, security groups, NACL) * Experience working with and supporting Unix/Linux and Windows systems. * Experience with RESTful APIs and scripting * Basic knowledge of SDLC and agile methodologies * Experience with Git, AWS serverless technologies, containerized workloads and Jenkins orchestration is a plus * Experience deploying production applications into cloud environments, AWS certification(s) is a plus * Financial industry experience is a plus. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English This role can be full time remote with some travel expected to the core team in Cincinnati, OH. #LI-RW1 Fifth Third Bank, National Association is proud to have an engaged and inclusive culture and to promote and ensure equal employment opportunity in all employment decisions regardless of race, color, gender, national origin, religion, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, military status, veteran status or any other legally protected status. |
