We are seeking a Vice President, Accessibility Team Lead to advance digital accessibility across BNY. This role sits within our Design Hub and will lead a cross-functional accessibility team. The Team Lead will be accountable for maturing accessibility practices, embedding standards into delivery processes, and ensuring compliance with global regulations (e.g., WCAG 2.2, ADA, and EU Accessibility Act).
This role requires both strategic leadership and hands-on program delivery: building frameworks, coaching team members, and partnering across design, engineering, product, legal, and compliance. This role is located in New York, NY

Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development
- Manage, coach, and develop the accessibility team, ensuring role clarity, inclusive communication, and supportive work routines.
- Foster a culture of psychological safety, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Accessibility Program Delivery
- Lead accessibility reviews, audits, and testing across digital products and services.
- Integrate accessibility into the design and engineering lifecycle (e.g., design system standards, QA processes).
- Drive adoption of self-service accessibility tools and training for product teams.
- Ensure BNY digital products achieve WCAG 2.2 AA compliance.
- Align programs with U.S. (ADA, Section 508) and global (EU Accessibility Act) accessibility requirements.
- Oversee development of Accessibility Conformance Reports (VPATs/ACRs).
- Partner with UX Research and Voice of the Client teams to ensure inclusive research practices.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to product leaders on accessibility risks, opportunities, and client impact.
- Champion accessibility awareness across the bank through training, workshops, and the Digital Accessibility Champions program.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Computer Science, or related field (Master's a plus).
- 8-10 years of experience in accessibility, UX, or related domains, with at least 3 years leading teams.
- Strong working knowledge of WCAG 2.2, ARIA, ADA, Section 508, and global accessibility regulations.
- Hands-on experience with assistive technologies (e.g., NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack).
- Experience integrating accessibility into enterprise design systems and agile delivery workflows.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to influence across technical and non-technical audiences.
- IAAP CPACC or WAS certification strongly preferred; willingness to pursue if not already held.
- Experience in financial services a plus, but not required.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $81,000 and $147,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
