SUMMARY

The EMS Drug Inventory Specialist works in collaboration with the EMS inventory control team to manage all controlled substances and non-controlled substances; procures, packages, and distributes and disposes medications. Maintains an established inventory of drugs and commonly used supplies; re-orders and stocks items upon delivery to ensure immediate availability. Preferred candidate Paramedic or Pharmacy Technician with experience in DEA regulations and per hospital medication management. Comfortable performing repetitive motions/ tasks is required, high level for detail, and ability to use technology and strong computer skills. Knowledge of protocols and system volume is critical to this position in order to manage and maintain appropriate ambulance par levels at all times. The positon will work closely with medical direction, operations and deployment to ensure ambulance readiness at all times. The position will provide oversight to state-wide procedures for medication management and will be required to work a rotating schedule to include evenings and weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma/GED required. Associates or two years college coursework preferred.
  • Three (3) or more years related experience in high volume EMS system as a Paramedic or in Pharmacy Operations as a Pharmacy Tech or related Pharmacy experience required.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Georgia Paramedic License or Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred.
  • Exceptional Attention to detail and organization skills
  • Strong data-entry skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
