Location: This is a hybrid (virtual/onsite) position with required onsite days on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday assigned to the Parnell East Office located in Jackson, MI. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify). General Summary of Job Responsibilities
The Platform Engineer provides 2nd and 3rd Level technical support services to staff and customers on software systems and hardware products and maintaining associated documentation for both Field and Corporate Workers. The incumbent provides end user computing hardware Life Cycle management to meet business needs. Troubleshoots very difficult infrastructure problems which can involve other groups such as server, network, and Information Security. Utilizes automation to removed wasted effort and improver user experience. The Platform Engineer responds and follows-up on internal and external customer support problems. This Platform Engineer position will be an integral member of the Operational Technology (OT) Gas Compression team which manages infrastructure, applications, and components that are critical to the operations of Consumers Energy's Gas Transmission and Distribution (T&D) system. As part of this team, the successful candidate will be exposed to a wide variety of challenging tasks and have opportunities to use and develop their skills to successfully complete these tasks. Additionally, this position is intended to be utilized for integrating complex industrial control processes with enterprise-level IT systems. If selected, the candidate will be working with several remote sites around the state of Michigan. The candidate will also provide IT/OT support for these sites. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
