Job Description

The School of Medicine - Department of Emergency Medicine is pleased to announce the recruitment for a Research Consultant II. This position supports work for our EMS State Data work that includes multiple entities in both MUHC as well as on a local, state, and national level. This work is expected to produce and secure long term funding from the state and produce numerous EMS research projects.

Duties:

  • Conceptualize, design, and implement methodologies to conduct large and small-scale quantitative research and evaluation studies; design measures of implementation, design data collection and survey instruments, manage data collection, develop quality control protocols for data processing and manipulations, perform complex statistical analyses, interpret findings, and
    make recommendations.
  • Preparation and presentation of reports to leadership, ensuring that data-driven insights support key initiatives* Serve as a direct researcher for external clients/partners/stakeholders beyond the University of Missouri system
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams, advising stakeholders on research methodologies and best practices as well as collaborating on a state and national level to present research findings and develop protocols and policies from research findings.
  • Independently query, merge, clean, manipulate, and analyze data from large relational databases; accurately produce and interpret findings; develop summary reports for various audiences, and for state, federal, or grant reporting purposes.
  • Provides written results of statistical results and with data visualization for reporting to stakeholders or for presentations that include planning, coordinating and conducting activities to provide training for numerous community groups including EMS agencies and bystanders for CPR training and EMS policies and procedures. Conduct training or informational seminars on research, reports, or data systems to inform decision making.
  • Communicate with staff in other District EMS departments/divisions and from outside organizations to facilitate and coordinate grant requirements and research activities.
  • Respond to requests for research or evaluation services from other District departments / divisions and EMS site administrators.
  • Maintain knowledge of national, regional, and local educational data sources; maintain an awareness of the major professional educational journals and current research; maintain an awareness of State - level governmental agencies producing and disseminating educational data; serve as a liaison with the major local and State-wide data providers
  • Provides guidance for public health related research proposals
  • Submits IRB proposals

8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $59,737.60 - $110,198.40 annually
Grade: GGS - 011
