Under the general direction of the Student Disability Center (SDC) Executive Director. Serves as back-up to the Executive Director and Associate Director, exercises sound judgement and applies appropriate actions as dened by University of California and departmental policies and procedures. Serves as a campus expert and consultation resource regarding best practices and compliance as related to SDC services and student access. Supervises SDC Specialists, Captioning and interpreting team, and Project and Resource Analyst. Manages faculty and student inquiries and concerns. Carries caseload of students with varied disabilities; independently evaluates student accommodation requests in accordance with departmental/UC policy and federal/state law to determine, approve, and coordinate reasonable and appropriate academic accommodations, adjustments, and services. Participates as an active member of various campus-wide committees as assigned and the SDC Specialists' team; represents SDC and delivers outreach programs to students, families, faculty, administration, and staff; manage faculty and student inquiries and concerns; assists with budget development; other projects as assigned. Key Responsibilities * 55% - Supervision, Office Leadership Department Overview The Student Disability Center (SDC) oversees the provision of academic accommodations, adjustments, and services for approximately 4,500 disabled students to facilitate equal access to the University's educational programs. Through an interactive process, students receive specialized academic support services and adjustments, disability management counseling, academic advising specic to disability impact, and the provision of accessible/assistive technology options and training, and other resources as appropriate.
