The BI Architect will optimize large data sets to satisfy the reporting requirements of the business. They will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams to design a centralized reporting platform to support internal and external clients.

Essential Functions

  • Design and develop a centralized reporting solution that supports and fulfills the needs of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Leverage data science tools and techniques in analyzing data sets that will enable the development of custom models and algorithms to uncover insights, trends, and patterns in our data to help identify the appropriate course of action.
  • Create technical documentation on new reporting platform design and ETL processes that support critical reports.
  • Lead and help establish consistent reporting processes and the maintenance of our technical architecture.
  • Participate in the prioritization of enhancements and reporting requests to meet the business goals and effective technology usage.
  • Provide mentoring and training to the reporting team.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Ability to develop high value analytic solutions that align with business needs.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to accurately convey messages with both technical and non-technical staff members.
  • Ability to work effectively, independently, and with others in a collaborative, deadline-sensitive environment.
  • Expert level knowledge of T-SQL.
  • Knowledge of cloud warehousing and data architecture.
  • Knowledge of BI platforms such as PowerBI, SSRS, and MicroStrategy/Strategy.
  • Knowledge or experience utilizing the following platforms and languages is a plus: python, spark, Microsoft SSIS, Microsoft ADF, Microsoft Synapse, Databricks, Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge of the mortgage industry is preferred.
  • Commitment and ability to cultivate a diverse and inclusive work environment.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, information system or related field preferred; the equivalent amount of relevant experience will be considered in lieu.

Experience

  • 10+ years of professional experience working within an Enterprise Reporting Environment (SQL Server).
  • 8+ years of experience with relational database design.
  • Senior level experience with data modeling, data warehouse.
  • 2+ years of experience working in cloud environments (Azure heavily preferred) and their respective BI services
  • Experience with one of the following, or similar, tools: PowerBI, Microstrategy and/or SSAS.

  • Compensation: $113,440 to $141,800 annualized with a 15% AIP opportunity

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a climate controlled indoor administrative office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate, depending upon the office or meeting location.

The employee is frequently required to move about the office, operate a computer and other office machinery, such as calculator, copy machine, and computer printer; rarely position self to maintain files; rarely moves boxes weighing up to 10 lbs. Close and distance observation required with ability to observe objects at close range in presence of glare or bright lighting (e.g., computer screen). Must possess the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand and have the ability to interact with external and internal stakeholders.
