Overview RN - Outpatient Pediatric Mental Health - Lutheran UnityPoint Health Des Moines Shift: Full-Time, 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4pm Benefits Eligible As a member of the interdisciplinary team, contributes professional nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care toadult mental healthpatients and their families. Maintains a practice environment that reflects the ANA Code for Nurses, Philosophy of Nursing at UnityPoint Health with in the structure of the Professional Nurse Practice Model and in collaboration with other care givers.Maintains a safe, therapeutic milieu and utilizes therapeutic communication skills that facilitate patient and family recovery from mental health crises. Qualifications Education: Graduate of accredited nursing program Experience: 6 months clinical experience in a hospital Previous mental health nursing experience preferred License(s) / Certification(s): Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse inIowa. Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire. Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English. Multicultural sensitivity. Microsoft Office - basic computer skills. Customer/patient focused. Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions. Other: Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position. |
