The University of Missouri Research Reactor Center (MURR), Columbia, MO Job Description
This postdoctoral position, which is available for immediate filling, will be for a one-year term, renewable for a second year based upon performance, funding, and a mutual desire to continue the appointment. Essential duties will include the design and execution of independent research focused on inorganic radiochemistry, which may include: 1) the design of new radiometal chelation systems, 2) radiosynthesis and evaluation of molecular probes as radiopharmaceuticals, and/or 3) method development for medical radionuclide production. In carrying out their duties, the successful candidate will conduct literature searches relevant to assigned research projects, safely handle radioactive materials, obtain and analyze data from a variety of techniques and instruments, document experimental findings in both laboratory notebooks and in technical reports and research manuscripts for publication, and present research findings in various formats. The candidate selected for this position must meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States through the period of employment. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications - PhD in Radiochemistry, inorganic chemistry, or a related field. Candidates will be evaluated on holding a Ph.D. degree in radiochemistry, inorganic chemistry, or a related field, preferably completed within the past five years. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in the following areas: problem solving, verbal and written communication, interpersonal relationships, and experimental chemistry, all in the context of the research setting. The ability to work both independently and in interdisciplinary and team settings is essential. Preference will be given to candidates with prior radiochemistry experience, particularly those relating to metal coordination complexes and/or separations chemistry. Application Materials
