DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Human Resource Assistant 2, you will assist the Workers' Compensation Coordinator and Placement Specialists, act as the agency Telework Program Coordinator, and coordinate annual events at Fort Indiantown Gap. You will review new, existing, and recurring work-related injury (WRI) claims associated with DMVA headquarters, veteran homes, federal National Guard armories, and airbases throughout the Commonwealth. You will analyze claim details, determine eligibility, approve or deny workflow requests, and ensure tasks are updated timely and accurately. You will also contact supervisors to initiate telework agreements and to ensure all telework agreements are updated. This role requires attention to detail and effective communication to collaborate with managers, supervisors, and vendors in preparing for the annual Take Your Child to Work Day, Unity Day, and Safety, Health, and Wellness Fair. In addition, you will track data for the nursing referral program, present briefings and trainings to individuals and groups, as well as create and separate positions in the ServiceNow system.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 5 out of every 10 days each pay period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Annville.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Human Resource Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of clerical or other comparable experience and one year of beginning level paraprofessional human resource or equal opportunity work; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must possess a valid federal or state issued photo ID and pass a favorable NaAtional Crime Information Center (NCIC) screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
