Posting Type: Closed Competitive Work Type: Full Time Nature of Work: This work involves the safe and efficient operation of the heaviest and most complex City construction and maintenance equipment and involves providing work direction to a small crew of workers. Supervision is received from an assigned supervisor who assigns and inspects work upon completion. Education and Experience: The knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acquired through, but are not limited to, the following combination of education and/or experience. High school graduation or its equivalent preferred AND Five (5) years of experience in the operation of automotive equipment of the type assigned to this classification OR Four (4) years as an Automotive Equipment Operator II. Special Qualifications: Must possess and maintain a valid Class "A" commercial drivers license with "N" endorsement and air brake certification at the time of application. Must possess a 2nd Grade Hoisting and Portable Engineers Certificate by the end of the probationary period. Pay Range: $24.25 with step increases to $35.22 Hourly Benefits: Forty-hour work week.
