Our company is one of the most significant publicly traded water, wastewater service and natural gas providers in the U.S. Manager, Gas Operations - O&M (North Division) Posting will come down EOD Monday June 26th Incumbents are focused on either Pipeline Construction or Distribution Operations areas. Plans, manages, and coordinates field and support activities related to pipeline construction or Distribution operations and maintenance within a Region to ensure safe, reliable, and regulatory compliant service. Responsible for the area's O&M or capital budget, safety, customer focus, and development of supervisory personnel. Teams with all areas of company with regard to restoration of service and emergency response. Principle (Essential) Duties
- Plans, manages, and coordinates all gas distribution and transmission field activities and pipeline facilities within an Operating Region to ensure safe, reliable, and regulatory compliant service.
- Ensures adherence to policies and procedures that maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, contractors, and the communities in which we operate and/or transport our product.
- Manage the Region's Operations to meet or exceed the business goals for operational excellence and improved cost control, quality, reliability, safety, and productivity.
- Create a respectful, goal driven, team environment among the workforce (both union and nonunion) and develop supervisory and technical employees for roles of increasing responsibility and/or technical growth.
- Manage, develop, and/or define deliverable commitments, their corresponding schedule and resource requirements at appropriate intervals regarding work-in-progress any operations problems or delays.
- Set operational priorities, administer labor agreements and allocate resources to meet operational and business needs, while ensuring safe, reliable and compliance requirements.
- Interact regularly with other department leaders, operations related committees, union personnel, customers, vendors, contractors, PUC staff, etc. on an as-needed or scheduled basis.
- Control assigned budgets constructing and maintaining the Company's gas system while keeping expenditures to an allowable level.
- Directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications.
Budget Responsibility
- Total Operations Department O&M Budgets and Projects of approximately $130MM OR Capital expenditures of approximately $100MM (Joint responsibility with Engineering). Regional O&M-$20-30MM and capital $20-30MM
- Manage all department activities and resource to ensure maximum benefit is achieved for all resources expended.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- In-depth knowledge of applicable operating systems (transmission, distribution, storage, etc.), procedures, key PUC/DOT/OSHA/CFR regulations and specific knowledge of the discipline (see experience/education).
- Exceptional skills in Microsoft software, required compliance and/or tracking systems.
- Advanced analytical, judgement, and decision-making abilities.
- Exceptional leadership skills, including written/verbal communications, and interpersonal relationships.
Experience/Education Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in gas operations or construction.
- Minimum of 5 years leadership experience and advancing leadership positions.
- Demonstrated success in leadership role.
- Demonstrated success in systems, operations (or applicable to specific field) management.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Management or similar required.
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive PNG vehicles.
- Also, additional duties may be added to particular positions and may be short to long term additions, depending on the needs of PNG.
