Job Summary:
|
The School of Science invites applications for a Part-Time Faculty position within the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program for the 2025-2026 academic year. This position will focus on teaching coursework related to the area of neurological and limb loss rehabilitation, however opportunities to teach multiple/additional courses may become available. The successful candidate will join a school characterized by a strong sense of community in which students are the central focus and faculty who are both accessible and approachable.

Minimum Qualifications:
|
* DPT degree or advanced master's degree in physical therapy or related field with ABPTS certification in Neurology * Clinical experience working with the adult neurologic patient population. * License to practice Physical Therapy in New York. * Candidate should possess a strong interest in DPT education, commitment to excellence and innovation in teaching, and working collaboratively with others

Essential Functions:
|
* Provide on-ground, in-person instruction at the Poughkeepsie campus during standard daytime class hours. * Develop and deliver engaging lectures, discussions, and hands-on learning experiences in neurological and limb loss rehabilitation. * Assess student progress through examinations, case studies, and project-based learning. * Stay current with the latest research in limb loss and neurological physical therapy and integrate findings into course material. * Collaborate with faculty and program leadership to enhance the curriculum.

The Doctor of Physical Therapy program is located in the Allied Health building, a 58,000 square foot facility constructed in 2016 for both the graduate allied health professions and undergraduate science programs. The building includes a Physical Therapy Lab (2060 sq. ft.), Movement Analysis Lab, an Anatomy Lab, and two designated classrooms for the DPT program. The DPT program consists of 36 months of didactic and clinical work designed to create graduates that are thoroughly prepared for the successful careers ahead of them. With small class and lab sizes and an overall 10:1 student-to-faculty ratio, students receive personalized attention from our expert faculty.
