Position:Environmental Health & Safety Engineer

Location:Greater Boston, MA (Hybrid - 1 to 2 days onsite)

Length:6-12 months

Job Description:

Our client is seeking a skilled Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Engineer to join their global sustainability and environmental compliance team. This is a high-impact role focused on advancing environmental reporting and analytics capabilities, particularly in support of greenhouse gas, water, and waste data management. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving sustainability initiatives through advanced data system configuration and global collaboration.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Manage global Scope 1 and Scope 2 data related to water and waste across multiple sites.
  • Utilize the Enablon Metrics Module to create, update, and version indicators, campaigns, and formulas.
  • Review, evaluate, and refine greenhouse gas protocols in accordance with industry standards.
  • Verify carbon emission calculations, execute re-calculation scripts, and conduct data analyses using custom formulas.
  • Restructure complex conditional logic ("if" statements) within datasets to enhance table integration and data usability.
  • Serve as a technical liaison, guiding engineering and system administration discussions with global users.
  • Support ongoing compliance initiatives by contributing to environmental reporting, particularly in areas of water and waste management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical, Civil, or Sustainability Engineering (or related field).
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in environmental compliance, sustainability, or system administration roles.
  • Familiarity with EH&S standards and best practices in a regulated or multinational environment.
  • Prior experience supporting or administering enterprise EH&S platforms such as Enablon.
  • Proven experience with the Enablon Metrics Module (data structure, formula creation, campaign management).
  • Hands-on experience reviewing and editing Greenhouse Gas Protocol methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of environmental reporting related to water and waste.
  • Experience with Enablon compliance or sampling modules (nice to have).
  • Proficient in managing relational databases and creating dynamic, formula-based data outputs.
