The Department of Psychology in the College of Arts and Sciences at Saint Louis University seeks to hire a non-tenure track assistant professor. This renewable position is for the 2025-2026 academic year and is focused on teaching and will be responsible for a total of three undergraduate courses over the academic year, including General Psychology and specialty industrial-organizational psychology courses. The position includes a secondary appointment in the SLU School of Education and duties will be assigned by that academic unit's leadership.

The ideal candidate will have a doctoral degree in Psychology. Preference will be given to applicants with a record of teaching excellence as a course instructor or teaching assistant. The selected candidate will design and teach courses at the undergraduate level.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Master's degree in Psychology or related discipline from an accredited higher educational institution is required.Candidates who hold a PhD, or who are ABD, will be given preference.
  • Teaching experience in psychology or related area, including as a teaching assistant or as an adjunct, at the college/university level.
  • Demonstrated experience with modern pedagogical techniques.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of student audiences, especially using electronic communication methods.
  • Skills and experience with teaching graduate statistics, including familiarity with R.
  • Ability to teach in person courses on the Saint Louis University campus.
