Fishbeck is currently initiating a search for a talented, growth-oriented Traffic Engineer to join our Transportation Department in one of our Indiana offices. Primary Functions
As a Traffic Engineer at Fishbeck, you will:
- Conduct traffic impact studies, safety studies, signal optimization, and traffic forecasting.
- Perform intersection and roadway traffic modeling.
- Complete roundabout analysis and geometric evaluation.
- Develop INDOT plans utilizing Traffic Data.
- Prepare technical reports.
- Assist with traffic signal design and operations.
- Collaborate and interact with our clients including INDOT, local agencies, other consulting companies, and contractors.
- Support the development of project budgets and schedules.
- Contribute to technical proposal development.
- Manage tasks and mentor staff.
- Partner with transportation professionals across Fishbeck offices and within the industry on traffic engineering initiatives.
Minimum Physical Requirements
- Occasionally exposed to light lifting, sitting, and walking.
- Perform duties both in the field and in an office setting.
- Ability to access and maneuver around project sites.
- Use of a computer and communication equipment for documentation purposes.
- Capable of traveling to and from project locations.
- Must have visual acuity necessary to perform responsibilities.
Desired Education
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
Desired Skills/Experience
- Minimum Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience with ITE Trip Generation Manual and traffic studies.
- Preferred knowledge of INDOT traffic standards and guidelines.
- Experience using:
- Highway capacity software
- Synchro
- Vissim
- Rodel
- MicroStation
- Strong computer proficiency and verbal communication skills (required)
