Job Summary

The Director of Academic Insight will oversee the health and viability of academic programs and the general education curriculum. Key components of the position include ensuring compliance with institutional policies, the University System of Georgia, SACSCOC, and Department of Education as well as tracking programmatic accreditations. The position will oversee the institutional curriculum review and approval process as well as assessment of both general education and academic programs. This role fosters a collaborative environment that drives continuous improvement in the academic offerings by assisting in the development of new academic programs and ensuring the health of current programs.

Responsibilities
  • Program Review: Track program health and viability through oversight of program assessment and comprehensive academic program review (CAPR), and review data on retention, progression, and growth. Cull multiple data points to measure student demand and post-graduate success. Develop academic program forecast and submit to system office to inform new program development
  • Collaboration within Academic Affairs: Collaborate with faculty, associate deans, and administrative offices to ensure that academic offerings, course descriptions, and program requirements are accurately represented and aligned with institutional standards and relevant external bodies such as the USG, SACSCOC, and programmatic accreditors. Collaborate with core curriculum and program faculty to promote meaningful and manageable assessment practices that promote continuous improvement based on the analysis of results
  • Liaise between Academic Affairs and Enrollment, Marketing, and Student Success: Collaborate with the Registrar to ensure accurate and efficient curriculum management as well as maintenance and accuracy of catalog content. Collaborate with the Director of Advising, Retention, and Completion to ensure professional advisors are prepared to advise students in regards to curriculum changes and identify student needs regarding curriculum offerings. Collaborate with First and Second Year experience to identify initiatives promoting student progression. Coordinate curriculum offerings across instructional sites, including e-core and e-major offerings
  • Professional Development Support: Provide professional development opportunities as well as ongoing support and training for academic staff, including faculty, department chairs, and deans
  • Ongoing Communication: Maintain ongoing communication with appropriate faculty, staff, and leadership regarding curriculum initiatives, issues, and events throughout the academic year
  • Maintain Compliance: Review current policies and recommend new policies to promote an efficient curriculum process and remain compliance with University System of Georgia and SACSCOC policies
  • Curriculum Review Management: Plan, facilitate, and implement curriculum review processes, including but not limited to approving course and program proposals, maintaining accurate curriculum records, and act as a liaison between faculty, departments, colleges, open access off-campus instructional sites, university curriculum committees, and administrative offices

Proposed Salary

$78,706 - $102,285

This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
