General Summary: We seek a collaborative and creative colleague who shares UMass Boston's commitment to urban education, equity, and social justice and who possesses culturally sustaining perspectives on education to serve as an Internship Placement Manager.
The Internship Placement Manager is a full-time position within the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) under the leadership of the Student Success Director.
The manager will provide support for identifying internship opportunities and placements for students enrolled in the College of Education and Human Development with an emphasis on students enrolled in the Sport Leadership and Administration major, including managing student and organizational internship records and creating and maintaining relationships with internal and external sport-related organizations, including community-based organizations and schools. The manager will also assist with recruitment, field placement, and accreditation, and support and evaluate internship placements. Examples of Duties: Under the direction of the Student Success Director, work to ensure consistency of efforts across all internship experiences;
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree is required in a related filed and Master's degree is preferred. 1-2 years of experience in a related work experience required. Experience in academic settings preferred. Knowledge of the sport leadership and administration industry is preferred.
