About the Job

Work Arrangement:
* The position is expected to work primarily on-site. Your work location will be in Wallin Biomedical Biosciences.
* The Department retains the right to modify flexible work arrangement agreements on a temporary or permanent basis for any reason at any time.

Required Qualifications:
* PhD in Immunology, Cell Biology, or related biomedical sciences
* In-depth scientific expertise in cell death, macrophage biology, and fibrotic disease mechanisms
* Extensive hands-on experience with murine models of liver injury, fibrosis, and regeneration, including tissue dissection and downstream analysis
* Proficient in flow cytometry, including high-dimensional/multicolor panel design, immune phenotyping, and data analysis
* Skilled in molecular biology techniques including RNA/DNA isolation, qPCR, ELISA, gene knockdown, and magnetic-assisted cell sorting
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills demonstrated through publications and international presentations

Preferred Qualifications:
* Demonstrated productivity through first-author and collaborative publications in immunology
* Strong background in experimental design, statistical data analysis, and data visualization
* Prior mentoring experience and capacity for collaborative research across disciplines

Job description:
To investigate immune responses to cell death and tissue injury, with a particular focus on how macrophages and efferocytosis receptors regulate inflammation, fibrosis, and tissue regeneration. To utilize mouse models of liver injury and fibrosis to dissect the pathways of efferocytosis and evaluate their therapeutic relevance in chronic inflammatory diseases.

Responsibilities:
* Design and conduct in vivo experiments using murine models of liver injury, fibrosis, and regeneration, including surgical procedures and drug administration
* Perform high-parameter flow cytometry to characterize immune cell populations involved in cell death clearance and tissue repair
* Develop and optimize protocols for efferocytosis assays and fibrotic tissue analysis
* Analyze data using appropriate statistical and computational tools
* Present findings at lab meetings and scientific conferences; contribute to collaborative research discussions
* Prepare figures, methods, and manuscripts for publication in high-impact journals
* Mentor junior trainees and contribute to the lab's knowledge-sharing and collaborative environment

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $62,232 - 70,380.00; depending on education/qualifications/experience
