Follow University Physicians and Hospital Patient Accounts written procedures to work Joint Correction e-mails, registration rejects, registration fatal edits, self-pay pending insurance, registration TES edits, HPA balance transfers and hold bills, registration cleanup projects, and other projects and tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities:

* Work all assigned task lists and emails daily maintaining the department timely review standards.
* Update patient registration through Cerner Revenue Cycle and IDX.
* Experian (ECN) reports for UP and HPA including self-pay and pending insurance, UP and HPA Medicaid spend down accounts.
* Maintain appropriate visit/invoice (account) management.
* Utilize aggressive follow-up methods and interact professionally with all entities necessary to ensure prompt maximum reimbursement of University Physicians and HPA charges.
* Possess knowledge of Medicaid spend down and Pending Medicaid procedures.
* Complete verification of insurance, UP Rejects follow-up, HPA denials follow-up, UP Experian Claim Source Billing, and HPA SSI Billing utilizing payer/insurance websites and/or phone contact to payer.
* Understanding of insurance billing and collecting policies.
* Proper review of registration UP Fatal Edits/TES Edits and HPA Fatal Edits.
* Proper review of HPA hold bills and overall understanding of why each task occurs and how to resolve.
* Assist in training new staff as needed.
* Knowledge of electronic claim submissions and rejection reports.
* Process all correspondence thru ETM.
* Analyze complex accounts as well as problems and trends involving root causing and providing examples with proposed written or verbal solutions to Service Coordinator or Supervisor.
* Complete patient contact as needed for Coordination of Benefits updates to assist in proper insurance billing and reimbursement.
* Complete all job responsibilities utilizing documented procedures.
* Complete various projects or assignments as assigned by Supervisor.
* Staff will be held accountable for work effort through the productivity measures and timely review goals established by department.

Position is eligible for the University Physicians work from home program.

Shift

Shift Type: 8 AM - 5 PM M-F
Flexibility for Alternative Schedules: Yes

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired.
Two (2) years of clerical experience; education may be used in lieu of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Training: Be able to use telephone, and other office equipment. Ability to receive & convey written/verbal communicated information. Ability to analyze complex mathematical problems. Understand and use standard database and spreadsheet software on PC effectively.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Hiring Range: $16.68-$23.32
