Do you want to help transform the railcar repair industry? As a business financial analyst at PSC, you will play a crucial role in supporting our growth by modeling, analyzing and optimizing the financial health of the railcar repair business. You will model our future growth and investment opportunities in collaboration with business development leadership. You will also support the operations team by analyzing site profit and loss statements, recommending areas of improvement, conducting lease vs. buy analyses, and economic limit of repair analyses for capital equipment.

Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 7:30am-4pm, Up to 25% travel to field office locations around the U.S.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Work directly with business leadership and finance team on various planning exercises such as budgets, profitability analysis, and capital expenditure planning.
  • Improve fiscal health with thorough analysis of financial data, develop deep actionable insights to drive business performance by monitoring variances and identifying trends by comparing datasets with projections
  • Analyze trends and variances related to revenue, expenses at each location in the PSC Railcar Repair portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain databases to monitor business performance, and provide leadership with insights into risks and opportunities.
  • Support business development initiatives by developing forecast models based on comparative performance metrics for new sites, expansions, and new lines of business.
  • Develop businesses cases to support pricing decisions.
  • Create innovative strategies for cost reduction, capital deployment (lease vs. buy), and leverage of PSC's scale in the market.
  • Collaborate with procurement to optimize working capital in parts inventory and non-inventory equipment.
  • Develop automated reporting of business metrics, benchmarks, and performance indicators via PowerBI or Excel.
  • Provide additional ad-hoc analysis within the railcar repair team and to other capabilities across the organization.


Job Qualifications:

Minimum:



  • 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, private equity finance, or industrial / manufacturing finance and accounting.
  • Analytical thinking, capable of evaluating information and identifying opportunities via the use of technology and automation
  • Collaboration mindsets that seeks to build partnerships
  • 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
  • Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check


Preferred:



  • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, private equity finance, or industrial / manufacturing finance and accounting.
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite is a plus).
  • OneStream, HFM, or other accounting consolidation reporting system experience.
  • Experience with Excel Macros, SQL, PowerBI, Tableau, Alteryx, and other data manipulation and visualization tools.
  • Understanding of complex accounting systems and database structure.
