Position Description:

Psychotherapist

Purpose

To provide psychotherapy in the Inclusion Health Clinic to LGBTQ+ patients with mental health concerns and actively participate as a member of an academic setting multidisciplinary team serving a diverse population.

Primary Functions

  • Provide clinical services within the Inclusion Health Clinic including individual, family and/or group psychotherapy for people 15+ years of age with a diverse range of mental health concerns and substance use disorders.
  • Provide supportive counseling to individuals who have a high degree of psychosocial challenges with a diverse range of socially and medically complex needs along with significant trauma experiences.
  • Provide counseling and support to individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those who identify as LGBTQ+.
  • Triage of emergent situations, phone conversations, and the ability to negotiate healthcare and social service systems.
  • Complete intake assessments and develop appropriate service plans including referrals as needed.
  • Interface with clinical faculty, staff, and providers across health systems..
  • Complete documentation requirements for all services provided in electronic medical record (EPIC) and participate in clinical supervision/consultation in compliance with all county, state, and federal rules.




Preferred Schedule:




Full-time role with expectations for coverage during core business hours and flexibility required as necessary to accommodate business needs.



Position Requirements:

Knowledge - Skills - Abilities

Knowledge of both psychiatric and substance abuse principles and skills regarding diagnosis and treatment. Ability to provide individual, group, couples, and family psychotherapy. Ability to function in an interdisciplinary team. Sociocultural sensitivity. Ability to respond to clinical and administrative emergencies. Education and experience in psychotherapy in an outpatient mental health setting.

Specifications

Minimum Required Education: Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling or other Mental Health related field.

Minimum Required Experience: Minimum 3000 post-graduate supervised hours and experience in an outpatient setting.

Preferred Experience: Three years of full-time experience as an outpatient psychotherapist, or the equivalent thereof.

Required Certification: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (State of Wisconsin), Licensed Professional Counselor (State of Wisconsin or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (State of Wisconsin) required. Certification in Alcohol and other Drug Abuse (AODA).
