About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced IT Modernization Consultant II to support enterprise-level IT transformation initiatives at FEMA. This role requires a blend of technical proficiency, innovation, and leadership in driving IT modernization efforts across federal environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in AI/GenAI implementation, cloud fundamentals, and experience managing or sustaining large-scale federal IT systems.

Key Responsibilities:

    Lead and support modernization, sustainment, and transformation of interconnected enterprise IT systems within a federal agency.
  • Apply expertise in IT modernization, acquisitions, and project management to federal IT initiatives.
  • Design and implement continuous improvement strategies for legacy and modern IT systems.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in AI/GenAI, advising on integration and scaling across agency platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on systems development, operations, and sustainment.
  • Identify and implement innovative solutions that enhance service delivery, security, and system performance.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience implementing AI/GenAI solutions in a federal government environment (DHS preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience leading or supporting enterprise IT modernization or system transformation efforts.
  • Hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas: software sustainment, IT project management, or IT modernization.

Required Certifications:

  • Microsoft Azure Fundamentals Certification (AZ-900 or equivalent)
  • One recognized AI-related certification (e.g., Microsoft AI Fundamentals, Google AI, or equivalent)

Clearance Requirements: Successful completion of a government security screening and/or a Secret Clearance

Additional Requirements: Successful completion of a Public Trust background investigation and/or a Public Trust clearance.

Additional Requirements: Successful completion of a Fingerprint background investigation.

Min Citizenship Status Required: Must be a U.S. Citizen
