Careers Construction Engineer Tulsa, Oklahoma Garver has an opening based out of our Tulsa, OK office for a Construction Engineer.The Construction Engineerassists and acts as a liaison between, contractors, engineers, and clients and will include the inspection and observation of roadway and bridge projects. This position will work under the supervision of the Project Engineer or Manager assigned to a specific project. This position will assist Project Engineers and Managers as needed with inspections and documentation to ensure that the project is built in accordance with project plans and specifications. Applicants must be capable of considerable physical activity in an outdoor setting including but not limited to light lifting, bending, stooping and climbing, walking and standing for prolonged periods of time, and regularly operating motorized vehicles. All applicants must consent to a background check, drug screen, motor vehicle report as a requirement of employment. Responsibilities: Understand project specifications and verify compliance Applicants must be willing to accept out of town projects as they come up Reading and interpreting data, information, and documents Analyzing and solving problems Performing highly detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks Work under intense deadlines Interact with staff, contractors, and the public Qualifications: BS in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar field 1-5 years of experience Passed FE exam with the expectation to pursue licensure in a reasonable amount of time Familiar with DOT projects Strong ability to prioritize and organize Excellent verbal and written skills Strong working knowledge of Excel and Word Preferred: Familiar with grading, drainage, sanitary sewer, water distribution systems, concrete/asphalt paving, roadway bridge construction, water/waste water plants, and site design projects Survey or materials testing experience Understanding of Oklahoma DOT Specifications ODOT Material Sampling and Testing Certification Grow With Us Garver offers its employees programs such as company-paid professional memberships, company support for industry licenses and continuing education opportunities that foster a progressive atmosphere.
