Construction Superintendent

We are seeking a highly experienced and safety-focused Construction Superintendent to oversee field operations for large-scale infrastructure projects, with a specific emphasis on water and wastewater facilities, pump stations, pipelines, and related heavy civil works. The Superintendent will lead and support onsite construction activities, supervise subcontractors and craft labor, and ensure adherence to project design, schedule, and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has strong field supervision experience, technical knowledge across multiple disciplines (civil, mechanical, electrical), and a proven ability to coordinate with engineering, project management, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality, efficient project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Field Supervision & Site Coordination



  • Supervise and coordinate major work scopes including site work, concrete placement, mechanical/process equipment installation, and structural components.
  • Support and enable day-to-day activities for subcontractors and field crews; review daily work plans to ensure safe and efficient execution.
  • Coordinate work sequencing and interface across disciplines to minimize delays and rework.
  • Maintain strong communication with engineering and project management teams to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and schedules.
  • Review and document actual work hours and productivity versus planned outputs.


  • Enforce project safety policies in accordance with company, client, and OSHA regulations; lead daily safety briefings and audits.
  • Ensure that all employees and subcontractors meet minimum safety training and equipment requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with project quality requirements; inspect ongoing work to ensure it meets technical specifications and construction standards.
  • Identify safety risks or productivity issues and share with the project management team to implement corrective actions.


  • Assist with on-site construction problems related to sequencing, productivity, or resource conflicts.
  • Participate in punch list development, commissioning, and project closeout.


Basic Qualifications:



  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Minimum 10 years of field experience supervising heavy civil construction projects ranging from $10M-$100M, with a strong emphasis on water/wastewater infrastructure.
  • Proven knowledge of all construction disciplines including civil, mechanical, and electrical.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and coordinate multiple trades and subcontractors effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and familiarity with construction management software.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training.
  • Expertise in water/wastewater projects, especially in concrete water-holding structures and process equipment installation.
  • Strong working knowledge of cost control, schedule management, and manpower planning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for maintaining strong relationships with clients, engineers, and subcontractors.
