Position Title: Tool & Die Technician

Wage: $28-$32/hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: 7am-3:30pm with the possibility of overtime, will be on-call as needed

We're looking for skilled CNC Machinists who are eager to grow and expand their expertise. If you have experience in CNC machining or Tool & Die maintenance, we want to hear from you! Candidates should have a background in programming and troubleshooting, and a strong desire to learn and grow in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This is a great direct hire opportunity in Kansas City, MO.

Tool & Die Technician Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Perform welding, grinding, operation of cranes, machining, and fabrication

- Smooth flat and contoured surfaces using power grinders, fits, and assembles parts together and into assemblies and mechanisms

- Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances

- Perform machining, finishing, assembly, and tuning of dies

- Carry out emergency repairs if any issues arise

- Perform die modifications for surface quality and accuracy

- Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machine, shaper, and grinder to machine parts, and verify conformance of machined parts to specifications

- Work in a team setting

- Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances

- Adhere to ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 procedures and work instructions

- Log daily book entries to communicate activities, issues, and progress of die work

- Other duties as assigned by the Die Maintenance Supervisor/Maintenance Manager

Tool & Die Technician Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent (required), Technical Degree preferred

- Some electrical and mechanical knowledge

- Demonstrated success in troubleshooting and problem-solving

- Technical knowledge and skills in the following areas: tool and die, welding, machining

- Strong mechanical and shop math aptitude (preferred)

- Ability to read blueprints and technical documentation

- Strong technical capacity to perform required repairs/maintenance while following safety protocol

- Ability to be licensed to operate powered industrial equipment

- Troubleshooting and analytical skills

- Experience building and/or maintaining high volume casting (or stamping) dies, welding ability, and machining

- Experience in industrial maintenance and/or military experience

(LOTO) Lockout / Tag-out

- Adhere to attendance policy

- Proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

- Regularly communicate and listen

- Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, ascending/descending stairs, and climbing all day

- Frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds

- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
