Salary: $107,632.78 - $130,841.55 Annually

The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office is seeking a fiscal expert to join their Detention Division!

 

About the Position

Reporting to the Sheriff's Administrative Services Director, the Sheriff's Fiscal and Administrative Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the development and administration of the Detention Division budget. This position is responsible for supporting the preparation of the department's annual budget and related fiscal deliverables, assisting with fiscal year-end processes, and preparing expenditure, revenue, and cost accounting reports and financial statements. Additionally, they are the administrative expert for the Detention Division, coordinating with Detention managers and supporting business needs. They supervise and collaborate with two Fiscal Analysts. Additional responsibilities include:

• Independently completing Board items, contracts, grants, and addressing department procurement needs

• Working as a key member of both the Detention Management Team and the Sheriff's Office Fiscal Team

• Addressing internal department questions and consulting with other Fiscal Analysts

• Assisting with projects, initiatives, and Department Analyst workload when necessary

• Serving as the Inmate Welfare Trust (IWT) Chair and Community Corrections Partnership (CCP) Liaison

 

What You Bring

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is organized, analytical, and able to problem solve.  They will have excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse groups. They will also possess many of the following:

• Strategic leadership abilities, with experience in successfully building teams, managing staff, and meeting work plan goals, priorities, and deadlines

• The ability to write persuasive reports and present conclusions before command staff, advisory boards, and governing bodies

• Intellectual curiosity and sound judgment

• The ability to identify and provide structure to seemingly unstructured problems

• Experience managing complex projects and/or contracts

• Experience employing strong budget and financial analysis skills in a governmental or similar environment

• The ability to develop and evaluate management improvements and practices in the division through the use of research and analysis

• Intermediate or advanced experience using the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, SharePoint, etc.)
