Job Description

We are looking for a Senior SW Engineer to join our US Area at Tink. We have a clear mission: to deliver world-class product experiences to its customers. Key Responsibilities

As a Senior SW Engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining frontend backend web services. You will work with your team to ensure that the end user experience of the US payments and account check products is reliable, scalable, and resilient. Here are some of the key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Working closely with engineering leads, engineers, product manager, and architects, lead product development throughout the entire development cycle. This role requires logical thinking, possesses a breadth of knowledge on applying technology, quick troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Regularly deploy our work to production and assure the quality by automated tests and monitoring.

  • Be responsible for the availability of the services the team owns, have SLOs/SLIs in place as well as an on-call rotation.

  • Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native applications using Java, React, and Node.js that power our financial services platform

  • Build and optimize RESTful APIs that conform to open banking standards and security requirements

  • Implement AWS-based solutions leveraging containerization with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes

  • Participate in architecture discussions to design scalable microservices that meet open banking requirements

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and proactively assess and evaluate the adoption thereof into the organization

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

*5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least

2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD,

MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

*6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years

of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)

or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD

*BS degree in computer science or software engineering or other related fields

with a minimum 5 years of experience in Java and web service development

OR MS degree in computer science or other related fields with a minimum 3

years of experience in Java and web service development.

*Strong experience with Java development (Java 11+) and Spring Boot/Spring

Framework ecosystem

*Strong experience with developing backend services and REST APIs for web

applications using Java, Python, PHP, Node.js or something similar

*Experience with containerization using Docker and orchestration with

Kubernetes and Linux server admin

*Experience implementing and consuming RESTful APIs with proper

documentation (Swagger/OpenAPI)

*Experience with API security, encryption, and compliance requirements for

financial services

*Experience with event-driven architecture and message queuing systems

*Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and secure authentication flows for

financial applications

*Ability to recognize and implement APIs that are easy to implement and

provide high value to the customer

*Have a deep understanding of how to develop well defined abstractions and

APIs with meaningful domain objects and clear exposed surface

*Comfortable with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Typescript

*Understanding of database performance optimization and data modeling

*Experience with automated testing strategies for both frontend and backend

*(Plus) Experience with writing Javascript widgets/drop-ins.

*(Plus) Experience with other technologies such as iOS, Android or React Native

Development.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 138,500.00 to 200,700.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
