APM Terminals
Purpose: The Finance Process Lead is responsible for overseeing and improving end-to-end finance processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. This role serves as a key link between finance operations and business stakeholders, ensuring best practices are implemented and financial controls are maintained. The ideal candidate has strong process management and problem-solving skills, a deep understanding of financial operations, and a proactive, analytical mindset. Key Responsibilities:
- Work with regional and functional business partners. Work closely with Business Analyst team in GSC supporting the terminal.
- To participate in multi-functional teams, combining the understanding of the business with a financial point of view with emphasis on value, risk, sustainability, and compliance.
- To narrow down the complexity of problems by involving the minimum required qualified people, removing silo's, understanding requirements and expectations, facilitating the resolution, and identifying and engaging the decision makers
- Monitor and analyze current processes to identify areas of improvement, automation, and standardization in areas of ATR, AP and AR
- Engage and improve processes between GSC, terminal and payroll.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and audit requirements.
- Coordinate NAM Financial Audit activities
- Be point of contact for external financial auditors
- Be point of contact for and manage compliance and control activities for NAM entities
- Support finance transformation projects, including ERP implementations or upgrades. (i.e. IFS, SAP)
- Act as a change agent for process innovation and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance and support to finance teams during month-end/year-end closing.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in financial process management.
- Support month end closing by providing:
- Input and approvals including a close collaboration with the GSC Accounting
- Align with HR and payroll team on payroll, pension, and related items, including wage tax, in collaboration with tax team
- Capitalization alignment with head of departments
- Voucher preparation according to agreed standards
- Align with terminal and payroll on FTE reconciliation and correct cost center allocation
- Collaborate with the GSC Business Analyst team to ensure transparency and improve accuracy:
- P&L overall monthly basis
- Costs: Actual vs Forecasts for each function
- CAPEX Actual vs Forecasts
- Continuously review KPIs/Digital Cockpit and collaborate with respective team to ensure that actions are taken to improve performance.
- Support closing and reporting activities for NAM regional entities
- Any other duties as assigned by management
Critical Qualifications/Skills/Experience: Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field (CPA/CMA/MBA is a plus).
- 5+ years of experience in finance operations, process improvement, or shared services.
- Strong knowledge of core finance processes (ATR, AP and AR)
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, IFS).
- Advance Microsoft Suite skills
- Proven project management and change management experience.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Lean certification or similar process improvement training is an advantage.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
- Experience working in a multinational or matrix organization, inclusive of offshoring services
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
