DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this crucial role, you will function as a Social Worker 1 in the Continued Care Service of Clarks Summit State Hospital. Work involves complete responsibility for providing and participating in social service casework and the community support planning processes that support and promote recovery and transition from the hospital. This position requires a working knowledge of all Social Service policies and procedures, hospital policies and procedures, CMS regulations, current mental health legislation and resources available to assist patients with day-to-day coping skills and ultimate discharge planning. You will have the opportunity to participate in weekly conferences with the supervisor where ongoing work is reviewed, discussed and problem cases handled. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Hours may change based on operational needs
- Overtime and travel as needed
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- A bachelor's or master's degree in social work or social welfare.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Other Requirements:
- This particular position also requires you to possess a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
