Waste Connections is looking for an Office Manager to support our Great River Division! The role is based in St. Paul, MN and would support locations across MN, MO, IA, and Southern IL.

Compensation: $65,000-75,000

Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily administrative operations including establishing work priorities and assisting in resolving problems related to the day-to-day operations

  • Aid and assist office personnel across the Division territory in executing their goals

  • Review monthly financials and assist with fiscal planning to Office expenses

  • Oversee and/or process payroll time sheets, PTO documents, travel reimbursements, and/or employment documents for the facility including drivers, maintenance employees, and office staff

  • Provide administrative assistance and support to the Division Controller and Division Vice President, to include problem solving, project planning and management, day-to-day office coordination, and secretarial services

  • Assist with clerical accounting functions including work order posting, purchase order processing, and payment posting

  • Oversee maintenance of employee records

  • Coordinate department programs, seminars, workshops, travel arrangements, special projects, and/or events

  • Other duties assigned as needed

  • Promote Waste Connections core operating values, which assure efficient environmentally correct and safe workplace practices

  • Demonstrate the ability to become proficient in the use of proprietary operational systems

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of directly related expertise in administration and customer service

  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite

  • Organizing and coordinating skills

  • Knowledge of accounting procedures

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

  • Knowledge of management principles and practices

  • Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control

  • Ability to analyze and solve problems

  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports

  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
