Senior QA Engineer

As required by our governmental client, this position requires the candidate to be a U.S. citizen.

A Senior Test Engineer leads testing efforts for complex software/hardware applications, overseeing risk assessments and development phases. They analyze user requirements, design tests, select tools, and collaborate with developers and end-users to create comprehensive test plans and scripts. This role involves coordinating test events, generating reports, tracking issues, configuring environments, and managing defect databases with advanced technical expertise in IT products, systems, and networks.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Test Engineer: Senior: $110k- $117k

Pay commensurate with experience.

Test Engineer: Senior Responsibilities Include:

• Provide testing expertise for complex software/hardware applications to meet user requirements.

• Direct or participate in all phases of risk management and software/hardware development.

• Analyze user requirements, design tests, and select appropriate test tools.

• Collaborate with developers, end-users, and organizations to create test plans and scripts.

• Coordinate with test sites and team members to plan and execute test events.

• Create detailed reports on testing activities and outcomes.

• Track and report problems and errors identified during testing.

• Configure hardware and operating environments as necessary for testing purposes.

• Demonstrate comprehensive technical expertise in IT products, operating systems, software, hardware, networks, and specialized environments.

• Write or assist in developing test plans and procedures.

• Manage the defect database under the guidance of senior Quality Assurance engineers.

• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Test Engineer: Senior Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field

• Lead risk assessments and contribute to software/hardware development phases.

• Ensure test plans and scripts meet quality standards and align with project goals.

• Effectively communicate testing progress, issues, and recommendations to stakeholders.

• Maintain awareness of industry best practices and emerging technologies in testing.

• Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance and support.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate testing effectively into development processes.

• Must pass the pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
