JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Buyer plays a pivotal role in the multimillion dollar purchasing program for our growing, global organization. The Senior Buyer procures assigned direct and indirect commodities ensuring acceptable quality parts are obtained at the lowest total cost of ownership while minimizing supply disruptions, minimizing inventory and improving material flow. This position is responsible for impacting ongoing supplier delivery and quality metrics. The Senior Buyer analyzes and monitors daily MRP and other replenishment systems to support Con Forms production systems and works closely with internal stakeholders to ensure a high level of purchasing support.
RESPONSIBLITIES
- Ensure the timely delivery of raw materials to limit disruption to manufacturing operations and service while achieving the lowest possible cost of ownership for Con Forms.
- Analyze MRP, reorder points, and service requirements, and provide supply base with material requirements via purchase orders and blanket releases.
- Ensure suppliers meet delivery requirements through regular follow-up and proactive expediting.
- Lead indirect purchasing activities for site specific services including executing the development, preparation, solicitation, analysis, business case presentation, and recommendation of providers. Responsible for ensuring quality, minimizing total cost of ownership, business continuity, and mitigating financial risk.
- Balance inventory to support both customer delivery and achieve lean inventory objectives.
- Maintain system database (Syteline) of planning and procurement parameters to ensure the replenishment methods are reflective of current business conditions and support a management-by-exception approach.
- Execute within Con Forms ISO processes and assist in the maintenance and enhancement of ISO processes.
- Manage engineering changes to support production and service while minimizing excess and obsolete material.
- Resolve supplier non-conformance issues and get to root cause and problem resolution utilizing established problem-solving methods and supplier quality processes.
- Develop and execute strategies to create inbound transportation efficiencies across all site specific suppliers, including exploration of returnable packaging, resulting in lower total cost of ownership.
- Maintain good supplier relations and represent Con Forms in a professional and ethical manner while driving suppliers to meet delivery and quality expectations.
- Collaborate with Receiving and Accounting Departments to ensure invoice errors are resolved timely and suppliers are paid on-time.
- Coach and mentor those that are less experienced in best-in-class procurement practices.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations, or business. Experience of greater than 10 years in a manufacturing environment may qualify.
- Minimum of five years of procurement experience, preferably in the metal fabrication or welding industries.
- Experience with Syteline (ERP) is a plus.
- Preference given to candidates with APICS or ISM certifications such as the CPIM, CSCP, CPSM or CPSD.
- Experience in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Outlook, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Effective communication and collaboration with all stakeholders.
- Ability to interpret and communicate a variety of specifications and information furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS

- This is a primarily sedentary position involving long periods of sitting and working on a computer in a climate-controlled environment. Frequently required to sit, stand, bend, stoop, walk, talk, or hear. Uses hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls.
- Ability to type on a keyboard and use a mouse to gather and input job information on a computer. Moderate to advanced skills in Excel, ERP systems, and fixed asset software required.
- Reading and comprehension. Ability to interpret and analyze data from company generated, industry, and financial reports. Evaluate and analyze international currency data.
- Responsibilities require the ability to complete moderately complex mathematical computations, budgeting, financial closures, forecasting, and foreign currency conversions.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- May lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds on rare occasion.
- Occasional travel to other Con Forms sites and suppliers.
