What You'll Do Supervise a team of technicians and fabricators, providing leadership and guidance on all technical issues Oversee the scheduling and completion of repairs and maintenance on the fleet of tractors and trailers, ensuring that all work is completed and in compliance with DOT regulations Perform routine maintenance checks including inspecting brake system, suspension systems, hydraulic systems, electrical system, and air systems Repair and maintain company tractors and trailers using hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and machine tools Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair engine/driveline/ABS related issues utilizing sound mechanical knowledge and computer based diagnostic programs Responsible for maintaining accurate records of fleet activities, including repairs, maintenance work orders, PM's and invoices Responsible for ordering parts required to perform maintenance Be able to work independently under minimal supervision What You'll Need Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team of technicians and fabricators. Proficiency in relevant software applications, including fleet management software, Microsoft Office, and database management systems Must have valid driver's license with a clean driving record Must be able to stand for significant lengths of time in an industrial environment with exposure to all elements of weather Must have own tools Knowledge of fleet maintenance and repair practices, as well as relevant safety regulations and standards, including DOT compliance. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and develop solutions Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail to find root cause for equipment failures Ability to work in all weather conditions Ability to work overtime as necessary outside of normally scheduled shift with little or no advance notification Capable of performing a wide range of physical activities which include pulling, reaching, bending, climbing and kneeling Experience with a wide variety of tools related to mechanics/hydraulics Vast knowledge of troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic and mechanical issues Experience with basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, engines, and vehicles Fundamental knowledge of bearings, power transmissions equipment, electrical, hydraulic/pneumatics, lubrication, and fluid pumping systems Possess proficient skills utilizing hand tools, power tools and precision tools for performing all facets of the repair and maintenance process Possess specific knowledge of both diesel engines and hydraulic systems Proficient in reading and understand technical documents, diagrams, and service manuals Your Education High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required We are CMC, a Fortune500 company at the leading edge of our industry.
