PSG is a community-based social services organization seeking talented professionals like you to join our In-Home Safety Services (IHSS) team.

JOB SUMMARY:

The IHSS program works with families referred from the Winnebago County Human Services Department to maintain safety in homes where children are at-risk for removal or are in the process of reunification. As the Safety Services Worker, you will support families by addressing a wide range of concerns, including: safety, enhancing the parent-child relationship, parenting skills and education, household management, nutrition, safe and stable housing, service acquisition, education, employment, medical, mental health, and substance abuse issues. IHSS programming emphasizes helping families develop formal and informal systems of support and resources.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SAFETY SERVICES WORKER:



  • Interview and evaluate clients to complete intake process.
  • Evaluate youth and families for treatment needs and refer to appropriate resources.
  • Analyze client situations and capabilities to determine services required to control safety threats.
  • Conduct face-to-face contact with families to ensure safety and cooperation with safety plan.
  • Serve as part of the Safety Team.
  • Safely transport clients as needed.
  • Exercise judgment to intervene as an advocate for clients in emergency and crisis situations.
  • Act as a resource to evaluate and determine necessary responses in de-escalating crisis situations with youth and families.


LOCATION: Oshkosh, WI. Local travel is required to complete client visits within the home, with mileage reimbursement. Flexibility for WFH up to 2 days per week is available after training is complete.

SCHEDULE: Full-time 40 hours per week Sunday-Thursday, with one evening shift per week and one weekend per month. Sunday evening shift is 2:00-10:00pm.

SALARY: $21.00 per hour

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid driver's license, and automobile insurance.
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related.
  • One year of experience working with at-risk youth and families is preferred.
