Global Creative is the internal creative agency setting creative and design direction for Johnson Controls' global brand. Our mission is to be the most customer-centric collective of creative thinkers, dreamers, and doers. We create beautiful visual designs, communications, on-site graphics, videos, and style guides. We are responsible for the development of quality creative for the Johnson Controls master brand and work to collaborate with business partners around the world to support a wide range of content categories. We apply creative insight to delight customers - driving discovery, engagement, and trust. We're growing quickly and hiring the best. This is day one.

What you will do:

The Senior Copywriter / Editor will focus on ideation and execution, working individually or as part of a larger team. This role involves crafting compelling and engaging copy that aligns with Johnson Controls' brand and business objectives. A passion for creative problem-solving and nailing a tone of voice is vital. In addition, acting as an editor and curating online space for our content marketing materials will be a key role.

How you will do it:

  • Creative Ideation: Develop innovative and effective copy for various projects, including marketing materials, digital content, and corporate communications.

  • Execution: Write clear, persuasive, and original copy that meets project requirements and adheres to brand guidelines.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with designers, marketers, and other team members to ensure cohesive and impactful creative solutions.

  • Tone of Voice: Maintain and refine the brand's tone of voice across all communications, ensuring consistency and resonance with the target audience.

  • Research: Conduct research to understand the target audience, industry trends, and competitive landscape to inform and enhance copywriting efforts.

  • Editing and Proofreading: Review and edit copy to ensure accuracy, clarity, and high standards of quality.

  • Feedback Integration: Incorporate feedback from stakeholders to refine and improve copy, ensuring it meets project goals and objectives.

What we look for:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in copywriting, preferably in a B2B environment.

  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of copywriting projects and creative solutions.

  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong understanding of branding and tone of voice.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in an in-house creative agency or similar environment.

  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and digital marketing.

This will be a hybrid position at our Glendale, WI office. 2-3 days in office
