JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary Purpose:

Provides strategic leadership and direction in conformance with Corporate and group policies and procedures. Controlling of engineering cost centers and of R&D projects while maintaining global process and systems for engineering controlling.

Primary Duties:

• Develop, implement, and maintain global processes/systems for project accounting and controlling while adhering to US GAAP, Adient policies and SOX requirements.
• Proactively partner with Engineering Directors while supporting the engineers to develop and support initiatives and improve actual financial results consistent with operating plan commitments.
• Provide monthly reporting for leadership and General Management.
• Support the month/quarter/year end activities as necessary.
• Support internal and external audit activities as necessary.
• Budgeting and forecasting of engineering projects.
• Responsible for all journal entries and final trial balance review of month end, balance sheet reconciliations and control accounts.
• Supports Engineers with Financial information for Capital requests.
• Support engineering project activity.
• Support monthly program reviews with key financial data to support decision making throughout the development process to ensure business case commitments are delivered.
• Establish engineering rates annually.
• Control of outsourced engineering activities including contract reviews.
• Manage and report third party and inter-company engineering recoveries.
• Support ad-hoc requests.

Job Specifications:

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
• 7 -10 year of finance and accounting background
• Knowledge and background in accounting principles is preferred.
• Ability to work up, down, and across the organization effectively.
• Superior analytical, presentation, written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organization skills with follow-through and a focus on "the details".
• Knowledge of financial systems such as HFM or SAP would be an asset
• Skills with Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
