Moffatt & Nichol specializes in large complex waterfront infrastructure projects and is recognized as one of the worldwide leaders in this field. We are actively looking for a Mid-level Landscape Architect to join our Charlotte office. This role will assist in leading projects with clients, architects, engineers, designers and plan the development of land areas for different projects. These projects will include urban regeneration schemes, pedestrian schemes, and transportation or retail schemes.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Participate in the design process from conception through development of construction documents
  • Develop and advance creative design concepts for clients/projects
  • Produce drawings to create and document landscape and/or urban designs
  • Assist in the development and revision of production drawings and construction documents under the guidance of senior technical staff
  • Supports review of federal and state policies, and local codes and zoning analyses to ensure that designs comply with minimum legal standards
  • Coordinate with architects, landscape architects, urban designers/planners, engineers, subconsultants and other disciplines as required to deliver projects
  • Perform periodic travel as required for clients and projects
  • Attend and participate in client meetings including development of agendas and meeting minutes
  • Support building relationships with existing and new clients
  • Participates in timely and effective management and delivery of drawings to ensure project goals and objectives have been satisfied
  • Participate in projects pursuits / opportunities including positioning, team building, proposal writing, interviewing, and contract negotiation
  • Performs other duties as requested by management

Qualifications:

  • Requires a Bachelors in Landscape Architecture from an accredited college or university; required
  • Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture; preferred
  • RLA (Registered Landscape Architect) licensed; preferred
  • 6+ years of landscape architecture related consulting experience; required
  • Ability to be a team player, able to work in a multidisciplinary setting on a wide range of projects
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling, visualization, and graphic software
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Good communication skills are important to adequately and professionally convey ideas and plans
  • Strong analytical and information integration skills

Working conditions:

General office setting.

Physical requirements:

Majority of work is office based. Some site visits may be required which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
