About the Department
Human Resource Information Management and Analytics ( HRIMA) provides a broad range of core HR services and support that includes the following:

  • HR data management, compliance, and stewardship
  • System enhancement planning, testing, and technical training
  • Project management and process improvement
  • Reporting and analytics
  • Employee records
  • Time-keeping and leave system support
  • Data quality assurance


HRIMA works with college and divisional HR representatives in the development, maintenance, support, and continuous improvement of HR applications, including but not limited to:

  • PeopleSoft HR System, aka MyPack portal
  • PeopleAdmin - Position Management & Applicant Tracking System
  • ServiceNow HR Service Delivery System, aka HRNow

Essential Job Duties
NC State University is seeking a tech-savvy HR System Quality Assurance Consultant to join our Human Resources Information Management and Analytics team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of HR processes and the ability to analyze system data to recommend and test technical changes aimed at achieving better data accuracy, improving compliance, and maintaining data integrity.
This position has a high level of accountability and strategic responsibilities that include, but are not limited to the following:
Data Auditing and Analysis

  • Auditing HR system data for precision and compliance with state guidelines/Board of Trustees/Board of Governors, and University policies.
  • Analyzing data error reports to identify and implement system and process changes to reduce errors and improve data quality.



Project Management and Process Development
  • Utilizing a customer-first and continuous improvement mindset to develop and oversee projects and processes that increase efficiencies and ensure quality assurance and compliance of various transaction types entered into the HR system.

Training and Communication
  • Contributing to the development and delivery of university-wide training and communication materials related to the PeopleSoft HR system, best practices, and standard operating procedures.

Consultation and Technical Assistance

  • Providing expertise, consultation, and technical assistance to campus HR partners on system best practices and areas for improvement.
  • Proactively identifying and troubleshooting atypical HR system issues.
  • Collaborating with technical staff as necessary to test and resolve system issues and/or enhancements.


Relationship Building and Collaboration

  • Actively building and maintaining positive and collaborative professional work relationships with campus HR partners and other University HR staff.
  • Participating in campus-wide and HR work groups and initiatives as the HRIMA SME.

Other Responsibilities

  • Serving as backup to the HR System Quality Assurance Manager and other team members as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience

  • Graduation from a four year college or university with a related degree to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.


All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institution.
Other Required Qualifications
Technical Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of an automated Human Resources System (preferably PeopleSoft)
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem solving, analytical and evaluative skills with an ability to resolve complex technical issues



HR Knowledge
  • Experience with or knowledge of HR functions, policies, and procedures

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

  • Excellent judgment, communication, diplomacy, collaboration, and organization skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and business communication skills (including written and presentational)
  • Ability to establish collegial relationships with faculty and staff


Organizational and Analytical Skills

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in managing projects including prioritizing work to meet timelines and milestones


Leadership and Initiative

  • Demonstrated capacity for leadership, teamwork, and initiative in an autonomous environment
  • High level of independence and initiative

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two or more years of PeopleSoft HR processing experience
  • Two or more years of faculty and staff personnel policy knowledge
  • Experience working in a University setting
  • Experience developing and utilizing queries and dashboards to audit data and identify trends
