POSITION SUMMARY

Sony Corporation of America (SCA) is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) division. This Analyst will be responsible for SCA's cybersecurity division's Annual budgeting & Forecasting activities in addition to the monthly reporting and analysis. This team member would be required to work from the Reston office 3 days a week. Position will report to the SCA FP&A Director.

This is a hybrid opportunity requiring 3 days per week onsite in the Reston, VA office.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide timely, relevant and accurate P&L reports of departmental financial results, down to the lowest expense level, by cost center and against historical budget/forecast on a monthly basis.

  • Participate in monthly and quarterly meetings with budget owners to explain the results and variances

  • Responsible for Headcount Tracking, Analysis & Variance explanations

  • Lead the P&L forecasting/budgeting process from start to finish, responsibilities include but not limited to: utilizing existing SCA budget system to build financial models for the fixed & variable costs, working with budget owners on additions and deletions to the baseline and finally uploading the final budget/forecast into SAP & BW using GL codes, budget codes and internal orders when applicable.

  • Participate in MRP preparation and work with HQ on various quarterly reports

  • Participate in additional process improvements, new implementations and system enhancements to drive cost savings and business optimization

  • Work with Accounting & Procurement divisions on variances analysis, adjustment entries and keeping Accounting informed of new plans and the company's projects

  • Assist with collecting and compiling information for Balance Sheet planning

  • Provide ad-hoc reporting and other duties as requested

  • Honesty, trustworthiness and ethical conduct are material requirements for the responsibilities outlined above

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION

Your qualifications and experience should include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting

  • 5 years experience in FP&A related function

  • Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Suite required (specifically Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Excellent communication, organizational and critical thinking skills

  • Superior attention to detail

  • ERP experience is required (SAP preferred)

  • Ability to handle sensitive information

  • Proactive, self-starter taking initiative with tasks, and following through to completion

  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously, and in both independent and collaborative environments

  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the USA

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $96,000 to $106,000. In addition to the annual base salary, this role has an annual bonus target of 10%. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
